Tips For Starting A Healthy Lifestyle!

Hey Rosie here :)

Today I am going to be sharing with you the first of a new series here on live for right now called healthandfitness fridays. Today I thought I'd start by writing my Top Tips For Starting A Healthy Lifestyle. I hope you enjoy this post and that it inspires you to become the best version of yourself you can be !

Tip 1

My first tip is to cut out processed foods. I chose to begin with this as its really important to have a clean diet. Foods such as takeaways, fast food , food high in salt, foods high in sugar and fatty foods are bad for your body and slowdown your metabolism. They will leave you feeling sluggish and tired and will often mess with your blood sugar levels.

I recommend you start to incorporate more fruit veg into your diet by drinking smoothies and trying your best to get your five a day!

Although processed foods aren't good for you its ok to have them once in a while. So remember to treat yourself!

TIP 2

My next tip is to drink water and tea instead of soda. This is a really important one if you want to lead a healthier lifestyle. Fizzy drinks are extremely bad for your body and are very high in sugar. You will feel immediate results, inside and out if you replace soda with tea and water.  I love to stay hydrated ! here are my favourite ways to do so:

GREEN TEA

Green tea is great at detoxing your body and also helps with weight loss!

RELAXING AND FRAGRANT TEA

I love this night time tea from Pukka! It helps me to slow down for the night and I will often sleep really well when I'm consistently drinking this tea ! It also tastes great :)

HOMEMADE DETOX WATER

If your not a big fan of water an easy way to add more taste is to make your own detox water with fruit! I like to add lemon slices and frozen blueberries ( which is why my water turned this cool pink colour) to my water. Easy and simple this homemade detox water is so refreshing!

TIP 3

Tip number 3 is to find your motivation online !
I love to look up new recipes online while sipping on tea and find it really motivational to see what other people have been making and how there health and fitness journey is going. I recommend you give it a go to ! There are many youtube videos and blogs which often inspire me to get outside or go to the gym :)

TIP 4

People often only view "healthy" as a superficial idea based on how our bodies look. Living a healthy Lifestyle means being healthy mentally and physically. So I suggest you take some time out of your day to just be with you. Take a bubble bath, write in a journal do what makes you happy and your body will thank you for it :)

TIP 5

My next tip is very important! Being active is all part of living a healthy lifestyle but is doing a form of exercise you don't enjoy really going to help you stick to a routine? The answer is NO do something you enjoy whether you enjoy running, walking ,swimming or going to the gym do what works for you!

For me I love to play football and am part of a local team , I also enjoy yoga and working out at the gym. Doing these things on a weekly basis works for me because I simply love to do them :)

TIP 6

When the sun goes down so should you!
Getting a good night sleep not only helps your brain to function well but you also produce the hunger suppressing hormone called lectine when you sleep. Finally sleeping helps your body to keep your metabolism steady throughout the day. So I recommend you get at least eight hours of sleep every night especially when you have school the next morning :)

Have a hard time sleeping?
If so I highly recommend this sleep lavender oil for your pillow. Its great and helps me to relax. Giving me a great nights sleep!

MY FINAL PIECE OF ADVICE

There is no better time to begin your healthy lifestyle than today. In fact the only thing we are completely sure of is right now in this moment. So why wait to start beautiful and active lifestyle later. When right now is really all that we have. Live for right now :)

I worked really hard on this post and hope you enjoyed ! Please leave feedback or requests down in the comments section. I hope you enjoyed the first healthandfitness friday! Love you all x

Thanks to my friend Rachel for helping me again with the pictures!

DIY HAIR BOWS!!!

Hi! It's Lauren here!
For this post I am going to do a 'DIY hair bow' tutorial.I hope you enjoy this post and maybe even decide to make them!

You will need :

Fabric of your choice!
Scissors
Fabric glue (PVA will do)
Bobby pins

STEP 1: Find some fabric! The fabric can be any design! You can go and buy fabric or even an old patterned top would do! Cut the fabric into a medium sized rectangle.

STEP 2: Fold the piece of fabric in half so it's still the same length.
Glue the two sides of fabric together!

STEP 3: Fold in the two sides so they meet in the middle! Make sure this is even. Glue the sides to the main part of fabric!

NOTE: On mines I havent done both sides!

STEP 4: Pinch the centre of the bow tightly and adjust until you get the shape you want.

STEP 5: Cut a thinner piece of fabric and glue around the thinnest part of the bow! Make sure you get this right as this will be how your bow will look! Once dried insert a bobby pin through the thinner piece of fabric! Trim of any bits of uneven fabric or bits of thread! Then you can wear it!

I hope you have enjoyed this post and that you will try this! Please let me know down in the comments of any other posts you would like to see!

Keep smiling,

DIY smoothies

Hey Rosie here :) Today I am going to be showing you an easy and simple way to get more fruit and vegetables incorporated into your diet by sharing with you my two favourite smoothie recipes. These recipes are both delicious and really healthy for you!

This first smoothie is definitely my go to after school snack. When I'm craving something sweet this does the trick while also providing my body with lots of vitamins and a big supply of fruit! fruity, delicious and easy to make this berry blast smoothie is great at giving you a boost of energy!

YOU WILL NEED:

To make the Berry Blast Smoothie you will need a hand full of frozen mixed berries , Some frozen blueberries , milk and a spoon of low fat yogurt of your choice ! I like to use the Onken strawberry yogurt.

Finally all you need to do is put your ingredients into a blender and blend them up!
I used the blend active which I got from Asda for around twenty five pounds. After your smoothie is all blended It should look something like this! I toped mine with some frozen blackberries! This smoothie is super yummy and my favourite fruit smoothie recipe ever!

Its green smoothie time! and my Super green smoothie is great!
With a not to green taste this smoothie is super refreshing and amazing for you. As well as the berry blast smoothie it provides you with many vitamins and also gives your body the greens it needs to take away the feeling of slugishness and help you to do your homework !

YOU WILL NEED:

To make my favourite green smoothie you will need …
A hand full of spinach , some orange juice that contains no added sugar , a few chunks of frozen mango and a squeeze of lemon juice :)

Next put everything into your blender and BLEND, BLEND ,BLEND until your smoothie is really smooth and a deep green colour!

Your Super Green smoothie will now look something like this and taste super yummy! Drink up and feel regenerised!

I hope you enjoyed this post and decide to recreate either of these smoothies.
I'd like to thank my friend Rachel for helping me with the pictures on this post ! I think they look great :) make sure to stay tuned for my post on friday ! Its part of a new series which I can't wait to share with you ;)

Apricot Heart Biscuits!

Apricot Heart Biscuits!

Hello!

Today I am going to be sharing a recipe! This recipe is for apricot heart biscuits! These biscuits are really quick and easy to make plus they taste good! These biscuits can be adapted if you don't like the flavour of jam, you can change the shape etc.

Makes- Around 10 depending on size
Prep time- 10 minutes
Cooking time- Around 15 minutes depending on size.

You will need:
  • 250g butter, softened
  • 140g caster sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2tsp vanilla extract
  • 300g plain flour
  • 1 pinch of salt

STEP 1- Pre-heat the oven to 175 degrees.
STEP 2- Mix the butter with the caster sugar in a large bowl with a wooden spoon.

STEP 3- Add the egg yolk and the vanilla.

STEP 4- Add in all the flour and mix. You may need to use your hands at this point to give everything a good mix.

STEP 5- Tip the mixture onto a clean lightly floured surface. Squeeze it into a ball and roll out. Make sure not to roll it too thin and that you lightly flour the rolling pin. Use a heart cutter to cut out the shapes. Put the shapes onto a tray that has been lined with greaseproof paper. On half of the hearts make an extra hole in the middle using whatever you like, cutters etc. Bake in the preheated oven for around 15 minutes or until golden on top. Remove from the oven and allow to cool. Then move them on to a wire cooling rack.

STEP 6- Once cooled try and find the closet other fitting heart. Put jam in the middle and put the heart with the hole on top. Repeat this until all done. Sprinkle with a little bit of icing sugar if desired.
Enjoy!!

I hope you have found this blog post interesting! If you would like to see more of these posts please let me know! Leave any feedback or suggestions for other posts down in the comments!

Winter Skincare Routine

Hey , Rosie here :)

As the months continue to get colder , my skincare routine gets adjusted to fit with what my skin needs. I have been enjoying using many products that continue to keep my skin hydrated and happy….

 LIZ EARLE SOOTHING EYE LOTION

The first product i have been loving like many of the others in this post is from Liz Earle. There soothing eye lotion is amazing at removing eye makeup including waterproof mascara and eyeliner. All I do is simply take a cotton pad and apply the eye lotion to it and then sweep the pad over my eyelids and voila your eye makeup is gone!

LIZ EARLE HOT CLOTH CLEANSER

This cleanser is definitely a holy grail product for me and I don't say that often. It takes my makeup of really easily and quickly by using it along side the muslin cloth. Overall this product smells amazing , looks amazing and most importantly does amazing things for my skin.

LIZ EARLE INSTANT BOOST SKIN TONIC

After taking of all of my makeup I then use a toner which helps me to achieve fresh and glowing skin in a flash. my skin always feels super refreshed and cooled after sweeping a small amount of this product all over my face with a cotton pad.

LUSH MILLION DOLLER MOISTURISER

I have to start of by mentioning just like all of lush's other products how good this moisturiser smells! it smells like toffee and honey and everything sweet without being sickly! and i love it !!!

It is also extremely moisturising and hydrates my skin for hours after I've applied it. The million dollar moisturiser is amazing and one of the best products I've used when ever my skin has gotten dry.
Its perfect for the winter time!

SUBSCRIPTION CREME

My next product is the creme i have been recommended to use by a dermatologist at my local doctors.
They have given me this treatment for whenever I get blemishes to help clear them faster. I have not been using it for very long but have already been finding it helpful :)

LUSH OCEAN SALT FACE AND BODY SCRUB

My last product is the Lush ocean salt face and body scrub. I love to use this on a pamper night as it is great at exfoliating my skin. I love to use this on my face because it contains avocado butter which leaves my skin feeling silky smooth

I hope you enjoyed this post and found it helpful :)
please leave any requests for posts down bellow and don't forget to read Lauren's winter night time routine!

Winter Evening Pamper Routine!

Winter Evening Pamper Routine

Hello!
This blog post is going to be my Winter evening pamper routine! Everyone likes to pamper themselves now and again, especially in the long Winter nights when it's chilly outside. Here are some ideas for what you could do on a Winter pamper evening:

Run your self a bath! Use a nice bubble bath and put in a nice bath bomb. Just have a soak and relax!

After coming out the bath put on some your favourite pyjamas or a onsise! I'm putting on my favourite onsise from F&F! It's also nice to put on some nice slippers. My slippers are also from F&F.

After getting on your favourite nightwear and slippers I like to follow up by just washing my face if I haven't already done so in the bath. I like to use the Clean & Clear exfoliating daily wash. I love this face wash! It's really gentle on your skin while still doing a great job! This face wash is available in most drug stores.

I like to follow up by using the Simple Kind To Skin facial toner. I love this toner! This toner is available at Superdrug for around £2. You can probably buy this from most drug stores.

It's nice to light a nice smelling candle during long Winter evenings. This one is a blackforest fruit one available from Semi Chem.

After having a nice relaxing bath it's nice to sit down and have a hot drink. You could make any sort of hot drink but I like to make hot chocolate the most. Also put your favourite hot drink into your favourite mug!

After having a nice pamper evening it's nice to sit down and watch a film. You can choose whatever film you want but for me I would sit down to watch T.F.I.O.S!

I hope you have enjoyed this post and have had a nice pamper evening if  you decided to give it ago! If you liked this post please let me know down in the comment box! Please all comment any ideas for other posts you many like to see!

Keep smiling,
Lauren xx

2014 Beauty Favourites!

Hello :)

This is our first ever blog post and we are really excited to share it with you! This blog post is going to be our 2014 beauty favourites! We have many products that we have enjoyed using in 2014, but we have managed to take it down to 5 each!

Lauren's Beauty Favourites :

1. My favourite product of 2014 has to be the Lush Dream Cream Hand and Body Lotion! The product is made from oat milk, rose water and chamomile blue oil. It is a cooling cream and is designed to go on the most sensitive skin. This product moisturises really quickly so it's quick and easy to apply. This product is 11.95 but it is worth it! You can buy it from:

https://www.lush.co.uk/products/dream-cream

2. My second favourite product is the Rimmel Hide the Blemish Concealer. The concealer is great at covering redness although I don't like to use it on spots. The concealer lasts several hours without the need for touch ups. It is 3.99 from:

3. My next favourite is the Zoella Guinea Pig Beauty Bag. This is actually mines and Rosie's favourite. It is a lot larger than what the picture looks like and fits everything in. The bag will be great for travelling or just keeping your everyday make-up essentials in. We both received this for Christmas. The bag is available from Superdrug for 7.00 :

4. My fourth favourite is the Tanya Burr cosmetics. I am really liking the nail polishes and a few of the lip glosses. The nail polishes last a while and are quite glossy which is nice. You will only need one coat to achieve an even colouring. You can buy Tanya's products from:

5. My last favourite of 2014 is the Ted Baker patchouli and bergamot perfume. It has quite a sweet smell which I love! Unfortunately I got given this as a gift so I'm not sure where it's available.

Rosie's 2014 Favourites

NAKED BASICS 2
In 2014 there was one product that really stood out to me and it was the urban decay naked basics 2 pallet!
There isn’t one makeup lover out there that doesn’t get excited when urban decay bring something new to their naked range. This cute little pallet is decked out with five matte eye shadows and one satin finish eye shadow, which is perfect for highlight. Cooler in colour than the original naked basics this pallet is perfect for all you fairer skin tone girls out there. This is definitely a great pallet for everyday wear and with the price of 22 pounds it wont break the bank. I highly recommend you pick this up!
If you would like to see a tutorial including this pallet then please let us knowJ

REALTECHNIQUES CORE COLLECTION
I’m in love with my real techniques brushes they are definitely the best brushes from the drugstore you can get. The price is great and the quality is amazing. They are super soft and really help to blend your makeup faster.
I really enjoy using the core collection because it contains all the brushes I need to do a full face of makeup. The collection includes: a contour brush, buffing brush, pointed foundation brush and a detailer brush. This collection helps you do your makeup before school quickly when you’re running late and cost 26 pounds from boots.

MAC LUSTRE GLASS – LOVE NECTER
We all like a natural makeup look and when it comes to lipgloss it can be hard to find that perfect pink. Towards the end of the year I was constantly reaching for this lipgloss. Love Nectar is a really subtle peachy pink and is very long lasting. It smells and tastes wonderful and isn’t your classic sickly sweet strawberry lipgloss that leaves you feeling sticky for hours.

LIZ EARLE HOT CLOTH CLEANSER
This creamy and smooth facial cleanser takes your makeup of in a flash and made with all natural ingredients leaves your skin feeling silky smooth.
I have been using this cleanser on and off over the past couple of years as my mum has always loved it , but this year I have really been enjoying using it to take my makeup off and there’s just something about soaking the cloth in hot water and taking of all the grime of your face after a long and tiring day.

My final favourite is ……

SEVENTEEN ON THE SPOT FOUNDATION
When you’re a teenager its almost guaranteed you will end up with spots. Whether its all over our face or just a few pimples we all get them and with the fact of wanting to cover them up but also not clogging your pores leading to more of the nasty fellas. It can sometimes be hard to find the right product that does both. I have loved using this foundation on my blemishes; it has medium coverage and covers up your impurities easily treating them at the same time. Seventeen claims their foundation gives you clearer skin in four weeks and it really does work!

We hope you enjoyed reading our first post! We know its quite long and we hope you don't mind, we just wanted to do our first post together. Leave any suggestions down below for our posts in the future!

Keep smiling :)
